Our hotel Landhaus Averbeck is located in the heart of the Südheide Nature Park, the south-western part of the Lüneburg Heath. The beautiful landscape with its ten nature reserves covers an area of 480 km². The Nature Information Centre in Eschede has an informative exhibition on the Südheide Nature Park. The nature parks Südheide and Lüneburg Heath offer many different paths and trails for the whole family.

Encounters with beautiful nature are part and parcel of a holiday in Lower Saxony. Cycling and walking tours take you to old heathland villages and across vast fields, meadows and forests. A good network of cycle paths along the country roads ensures that you can enjoy your trip at a relaxed pace.

A horse-drawn carriage ride through the beautiful countryside is even more comfortable. Canoeing is a great way to get to know the flora and fauna of our beautiful moorland waters, and our shuttle service will bring you back in comfort after a long trip.
